Memphis guard Jeremiah Martin undergoes surgery to repair hernia

Memphis Tigers senior JeremiahA Martin underwent surgeryA this week to repair an inguinal hernia, according to a release from the school Wednesday. The guard already missed the end of last season with a Lisfranc fracture in his right foot he suffered in the Tigersa€™ win over Houston in February.A 

The release states the operation, which took place Monday, should keep the senior out for 4 to 6 weeks. Based on that prognosis, Martin could be available when Memphis starts its preseason practices at the end of September.A 

The Tigers play their first exhibition against LeMoyne-Owen on Oct. 25. Their first regular-season game is Nov. 6 against Tennessee Tech at FedExForum.A
