Clemson basketball coach Brad BrownellA onA WednesdayA scored a major recruiting victory across the border in Georgia by landing a public commitment fromA 6-foot-3 Atlanta guard Chase Hunter. Brownell had to beat outA new Georgia coach Tom CreanA for Hunter who has strong family ties to UGA.

Huntera€™s father was formerA Georgia star receiver Brice Hunter who was killed in 2004. And his mother played basketball at Georgia. He made unofficial visits to Athens but his only official visit was to Clemson last weekend.

a€œIt was a great choice,a€ he said. a€œIt checked off all the boxes as far as everything with me. Fit my my style, the way that I play.a€

Hunter said he liked what he saw on the visit in terms of facilities and academics, but he also saw a good fit for himself in Brownella€™s style of basketball.
