USC forward Bennie Boatwright will return for his senior season rather than enter the NBA draft, his father, Bennie Sr. confirmed Monday.

The decision means the Trojans will bring back one of their top scorers amid other high-profile departures.

Elsewhere on the roster, USC will see senior guards Jordan McLaughlin and Elijah Stewart leave, as well as forward Chimezie Metu, the teams leading scorer and rebounder who opted to forgo his final season of eligibility to enter the draft in June.

CBS Sports first reported Boatwrights return.

Before an injury-riddled junior season, Boatwright was expected to turn pro alongside Metu, his roommate and close friend.

Boatwright tested the NBA draft waters a year ago, declaring for the draft without hiring an agent in order to retain his college eligibility. The 6-foot-10 forward ultimately remained in school.

Since starting for USC as a freshman and showing the ability to make 3-pointers at his size, Boatwright has been viewed as a potential draft pick, fitting the mold of the NBAs so-called stretch fours, but he has recently been limited by a variety of injuries.
