Four-star recruit Jaime Jaquez verbally committed to UCLA on Tuesday, he informed to 247Sports.

"It just felt right," Jaquez said. "The coaching staff, they did a great job of recruiting. They called everyday. I got to know them really well. Their style of play, its close to home and coach [Steve] Alford, hes great. I really would love to play for him.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound combo forward took an unofficial visit to UCLA's campus on Tuesday afternoon and opted to join the program before he left.

"Its UCLA," DeAnthony Langston, who coaches Jaquez on The Truth AAU program, said. "Its the epitome of college basketball. The coaching staff did a great job recruiting him."

"Over the course of two weeks I had some talks with my coaches," Jaquez said. "They were asking me what I want to do and I kept thinking about it and thinking about it and UCLA was the one that just stuck out. Everything about it. Its close to home. Its a great school. Thats where I wanted to go."

Jaquez, a standout at Camarillo (Calif.) Adolfo, had a wide range of interest, including offers from Stanford, UCSB, St. John's, USC, Michigan, California, Georgetown, Illinois and a host of others. In the end, staying close to home and playing in front of his family was intriguing to Jaquez.
