Penny Hardaway convinced another one of his former players at East High School to join him 1.5 miles down the road at the University of Memphis.

Forward Malcolm Dandridge became Hardaway's first recruit in the 2019 class, announcing his commitment to the Tigers on social media Wednesday.

The 6-foot-9 Memphis native played for Team Penny and starred on East's past two state championship teams. Most recruiting analysts deemed his decision inevitable once Hardaway's hiring as head coach at Memphis became official on March 20.

Dandridge is the fourth top-150 recruit to commit or sign with Memphis during the six weeks since Hardaway took the job. Local stars Tyler Harris and Alex Lomax, as well as guard Antwann Jones, are part of the Tigers' 2018 recruiting class.
